HISTORY...

First generation - my Grandfather

My family’s adventure with cynology began three generations ago, in the 40’s of 20th century.  After being involuntary held in Germany, my Grandfather, Marcin Wozniak, brought to his motherland, apart of his family, a one year old Boxer.

Since then, pure breed dogs started being regular householders of Wozniak’s house. The kennel, named "z Linii Otwockiej", existed for over thirty years and apart of the mentioned Boxer, was home for such breeds like: German Shepherd, Schnauzer Medium and Giant, Fox Terrier and Rottweiler.

Nobody in the family recalls when exactly the “z Linii Otwockiej” kennel started  its activity. However the oldest saved pedigree of the kennel was issued in 1959.

It is also known that in the 60’s my Grandfather was a regular guest at the dog shows - he was known as a show lover who enjoyed showing his dogs and did it on e regular basis.

Although Grandfather’s kennel was home of many dogs, some of them had their little contribution to polish cynology. For example, a Schnauzer Medium female whose name was ISMENA Margo, was one of those who gave rise to this variation in Poland. I’ve learned about it a couple of years ago from the official bimonthly of Polish Kennel Club - “PIES”. Moreover, Ismena was my Grandfather’s real pride. She was awarded many victories, a CACIB at the International Show in Budapest in 1967 among others. All that in the communism times when travelling abroad for shows was believed to be craziness.

Another dog who created history was a Rottweiler named BARRY v. Oderstrand, brought by my Grandfather in the late 70’s. Barry was imported from Germany and was probably the first male of this breed registered in Poland.
